Overview

Mimi's on Lincoln is a charming neighborhood cafe located at 3801 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago. It offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly suits early mornings or relaxed afternoons. The space is thoughtfully designed with wide-spaced tables, minimalist decor, and background music played low enough to encourage quiet conversation. There's also a tucked-away outdoor seating area, ideal for sunny days.

The cafe shines brightest with its breakfast offerings, especially their signature breakfast sandwiches. The Cozy Morning, featuring toasted sourdough loaded with scrambled eggs, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, spinach, and mozzarella, finished with a tomato basil mayo, is a standout. For those who prefer bagels, fresh, flavorful options like The OG breakfast bagel sandwich satisfy without compromise. Vegan and gluten-friendly choices are also available, a nod to the diverse tastes and dietary needs of the neighborhood clientele.

Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the expertly crafted drinks, notably the Salted Maple Latte—a blend of double espresso, steamed milk, maple syrup, and sea salt—that balances richness and subtle sweetness. Seasonal specials keep the menu interesting year-round, while the Peppermint Mocha carries a deeper purpose: each sale supports the 19th District Mutual Aid, embedding the cafe in the community’s fabric.

The staff at Mimi's on Lincoln consistently earns praise for their friendly, polished service. Customers mention the genuine smiles and helpful attitude contributing to a laid-back yet attentive experience. Cleanliness is another strong point, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing visit every time.

While some find the prices a bit on the higher side, most agree that the quality, freshness, and neighborhood charm justify the cost. The cafe’s intimate size makes it a cozy spot to escape the bustle, though it may not cater to those seeking a more spacious or elaborate setting. Dog lovers will be pleased to know that Mimi's welcomes pups with its popular homemade whipped cream and special pup cups, further cementing its role as a community hub.

Overall, Mimi's on Lincoln stands out as a reliable, flavorful breakfast and coffee destination for locals and visitors seeking comfort, quality, and a touch of kindness in their daily routines. Its commitment to thoughtful ingredients, welcoming ambiance, and community engagement creates a memorable experience worth returning to time and again.

I stopped by on my way to Trader Joe's. I like the wide-spaced tables, super simple decor, and the music played at a low volume. Kristen, who served me, has a great smile and attitude. The whole atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. There is also a pleasant space to sit outside, which I unfortunately hadn't seen on my way in on this sunny morning. The coffee was good and the toasted bagel with scallion cream cheese just as good. The place is super clean, as is the bathroom. One thing I wasn't crazy about--the sign asking to tip the servers. Everything is really expensive nowadays, and going out anywhere even if it's only for coffee and a bagel is something I don't do on a regular basis. I try to tip servers, but admittedly don't always do so for non sit-down service. It's really up to the customer's discretion and pocketbook whether to tip or not, in my opinion. But this did not, in any way, detract from my experience and I shall most certainly return when in the area.

The greatest neighborhood cafe! I’m so happy for this spot really taking off in its new location. I’ve been a huge fan since they started down the street. Mimi’s has incredible vegan options! I crave The OG all the time- the perfect breakfast bagel. My pup is a big fan of their homemade whip cream too. He always walks me right to their window register Super friendly staff too!

The staff is always polite and helpful, and the coffee is outstanding. The food prices are a bit on the high side, but the food is good. The space is a bit small and not my particular aesthetic, but that's probably more a manner of person taste. With Botanical being next door, it's sometimes a tough decision, but I'm starting to lean a lot more towards Mimi's more often.

This place is great- clean, bright, cute! The two women working were wonderful and my food came out so quick. The OG sandwich was delish and so filling and the cold brew absolutely hit the spot I got it with the house made vanilla syrup and it was so damn good.

First time here, it’s pretty damn good. I’m not typically a pumpkin spice girly but they may have converted me lol. My OG bagel was bangin’ and everyone was nice. Most importantly, they have plug outlets!!!
